Poor map quality
We want to give everyone the opportunity to create a beautiful video of all their adventures. Therefore, it's important to have a high-quality map with global coverage. Satellite images are used to visualize the landscape in our videos, curated by Esri’s Living Atlas of the World Satellite. Because the total area of the Earth is so large and because we use different resolutions of images (camera position can be more zoomed in or out, depending on the total distance of your route), the map consists of different images that are pasted together.
Pasting all these images together is cost and time consuming and can sometimes cause areas in the map changing colour or resolution (see image below). Weather conditions and the moment the image was taken are the biggest cause of this affected map quality. For example, it is difficult to obtain images for areas of frequent cloud cover such as mountain tops.
We are always trying to improve the quality of the map and give you the best we can. We apologize for any inconvenience.
